Josie Carson has led her track team to state championships in 2015 and 2017. In the 2017 season, she helped garner 31 big points by winning 3 events (1600, 800, & 3200 runs) & running on the 5th place 4x400 relay team.
In cross country this past season, she became only the second girl in the history of the state to win her 4th individual title (9-12 grade). She also won the Oklahoma Arkansas All Star meet to lead team Arkansas to victory. In her 4 years on the Lake Hamilton cross country team she has led her team to one state championship and 3 state runners-up finishes.
Josie has also excelled in the classroom culminating in her scoring a 34 on the ACT.
As difficult a feat it is to win the Gatorade Cross Country Athlete of the Year, Josie has done it twice.
The Lake Hamilton school district and community wishes her future successes as she plans to continue her education and run track & cross country at the University of Arkansas this Fall.
