Lady Wolves softball advances to 2nd round with win over Pine Bluff

Greenwood - A combination of Pine Bluff errors and Lake Hamilton hits helped earn the Lady Wolves a 3-0 lead in the second inning. They then were able to pad the lead with a five run 4th inning to go up 8-0 in the first round of the state tournament. The Lady Wolves added two more runs late for the final score of 10-0 and sending the girls to the second round of the tournament against #1 seed from the East, Marion.
Lake Hamilton ended up with 11 hits and 4 walks, including an in the park home run which cleared all the bases. Charlye Rowland and Annalee Diehl together limited Pine Bluff to only one hit, 14 strikeouts, no walks and one hit batter as Rowland picked up the win.
The Lady Wolves, #4 seed from the West, will play on Friday at 5:30 with the hopes of winning and moving on to the Saturday semi-finals at 12:00.
