The Lake Hamilton Senior High and Junior High Cross Country teams travelled up Hwy. 7 North saturday to the Cyclone C.C. Invitational hosted by Russellville school district on the campus of Arkansas Tech University. The Running Wolves were met with cool temperatures, great competition, and an extremely fast course saturday making it ideal for a season best!!!

In the Senior boys division, Lake Hamilton ranked #1 in 5A finished third with 100pts. behind 6A 1st place Bentonville and 2nd place 6A Conway who both finished with 46pts., Bentonville getting the win with their 6th runner finishing before Conway's 6th. Most of the L.H. Sr. boys ran either personal or season best saturday on the course.

In the Senior girls division, Lake Hamilton ranked #5 in 5A finished with 126pts. Class 5A Vilonia won the team race with 58pts. Just like the Sr. boys race most of the L.H. girls looked great as most of them ran career bests or a season best time.

In the Junior Boys race, Lake Hamilton continued its streak of being undefeated by winning the Junior boys division with 33pts. Bentonville's Junior boys placed 2nd with 49pts. The majority of the Junior boys ran a personal or season best for 2 miles even though the course was slightly long.

In the Junior Girls race, the Lake Hamilton girls had another strong showing and won the meet with 86pts., Bryant's Jr. girls were 2nd with 112pts. Much like the other C.C. Wolves most of the girls also ran a personal or season best for 2 miles on the long course.

Lake Hamilton Head Cross Country Coach Karl Koonce had the following to say about the meet: It was a great day for cross country! The weather was good and the team atmosphere was great. I really enjoy watching our wolves compete hard and give it all they have. It is wonderful to watch our athletes improve their performances as a direct result of the work they put in. There were a lot of Wolves doing just that today at Russellville!

Also the parent support is great and the largest group I have ever seen here at Lake Hamilton. It means a lot to the athletes and the coaching staff. I know that some parents cannot be at all our meets.

If you have not made to one of our meets, I hope you will be able to attend some of the upcoming meets. I promise you will be entertained and will see a bunch of Wolf Pride being demonstrated at the meets during competition as well as before and after.

Proud to be a Wolf, Coach Karl Koonce
